Intel Actively Blocking Haswell Non-Z OC For K-Series Processors on H87/B75 Motherboards - yohesproas1943
Intel launched their Haswell processors in early June which brought new overclocking features with them on the K-Series unlocked chips and the Z87 chipset motherboards. But, Intel limited overclocking of these K-Series chips on their H87 and B75 Show chipset based motherboards while the not-K series Haswell processors offer little until no no overclocking at altogether.
Intel Blocks Non-Z OC Feature For K-Series Haswell Processors
It has scarce been over a month since Haswell's institution and manufacturers have already found a way to make past the overclocking restrictions obligatory by Intel on their H87 and B75 chipset based offerings. ASRock was the first to introduce the so called Not-Z OC feature for Haswell processors and was tardive offered by Gigabyte, ASUS, Biostar, MSI, ECS. What the Not-Z OC feature specifically does is allow users with a K-Serial Haswell processor to overclock their chip on a H87 and B75 chipset motherboard which otherwise isn't possible. Wholly you need to do is grab the latest BIOS firmware from the manufacturers support list and you're ready for overclocking connected budgeted motherboards.
However these budget boards still fall a bit curt on features compared to the Z87 chipset based lineups from the respective manufacturers. While this is proficient for consumers, Intel English hawthorn not appear to a fault happy about it and As per the report by hardware.fr, the chip giant is soon cathartic a new microcode update for their B75/H87 chipsets boards which would actively block the Non-Z OC feature from diverse manufacturers. Now this is not known whether or not is the firmware update mandatory for all Haswell owner or would it be shipped away manufacturers to parry the OC feature film they released a little over few weeks ago.

IT was already seen how Non-K serial Haswell chips offering no overclocking at all and the Not-Z OC feature was a good addon by motherboard makers but i guess Intel still has a skin-tight leash on them to get things cooked their way.
